Well, first some official stuff - Berezino district is located in the east of the Minsk region. It borders on Cherven, Borisov, Krupki districts of Minsk region, Belynichi, Klichev and Osipovichi districts of Mogilyov region. It occupies the area of 1,9 thousand square kilometers. More than 32 thousand persons live in the district, 13,3 thousand of them - in Berezino. Now there is a total of 218 settlements in the district, 26 of them are in the residence zone with a periodic radiation control, and three settlements (villages of Prudok, Berye, Korbovskoye) belong to the zone of voluntary settling out. The territory of the district is divided into 14 village councils. The largest settlements are the villages of Pogost - 680 people, Poplavy - 630 people, Leshnitsa - 522 people, Lyubushany - 483 people. There are Minsk-Mogilyov arterial highway and highways to Borisov, Bobr and Klichev - Bobruisk running through the territory of Berezino district. There is no railway in the district. The nearest railway stations are in the town of Borisov and in the territory of Klichev district (Mogilyov region). In the territory of the district there function 10 industrial enterprises of various ownership which produce mostly consumer goods. The largest enterprise of the district is the Open Joint Stock Company "Berezino Butter and Cheese Dairy" which produces unskimmed-milk products, butter and cheese. The basis of the district's economy is agriculture. The structure of the agricultural complex of the district includes: 21 collective farms, a state farm, 6 enterprises and organizations serving the agriculture. 12 individual farms have been created and function. Milk cattle breeding prevails in the district, growing potatoes, flax, grain is advanced in plant growing.
